Arjuna Award for Virat Kohli, PV Sindhu; Ronjan Sodhi gets Khel Ratna

Two of India's brightest young sporting talents Virat Kohli and PV Sindhu will be given the Arjuna Award. Virat Kohli recently captained India  to a 5-0 One-day international series victory in Zimbabwe while PV Sindhu won a historic bronze medal at the recently-concluded world badminton championships.

Meanwhile, ace shooter Ronjan Sodhi is set to be awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honour. The double Olympic trap shooter was picked for the award by a selection committee. Sodhi is a double trap specialist and is a multiple-time world cup medalist, including two golds at the 2010 and 2011 editions in Turkey and UAE respectively. Sodhi also won gold at the 2010 Asian games in China.

Kohli and Sindhu are among 14 sportspersons to be given the Arjuna Award. Kohli has been rewarded for exceptional performances with the Indian cricket team, including captaining the side on many occasions over the past couple of months. PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win the singles bronze medal at the world badminton championships last week.
