Heavy rains lashed coastal Andhra
Pradesh today resulting in inundation of low-lying residential areas and badly
affected standing crops. Machilipatnam in Krishna district received 17 cm of rainfall,
followed by Rajahmundry in East Godavari district-16 cms, Ongole in Prakasam district-14 and Eluru in West Godavari,
Avanigadda in Krishna and Yerragondapalem and Darsi in Prakasam district
received 13 cms each.
