Denmark Open

Saina Nehwal beats Juliane Schenk; wins Denmark Open

Saina Wins the Denmark Open 21-17, 21-8. Just 35 minutes of play. 6th premier title for her and second of the year after Indonesian Open. This is Saina's 16th international title overall of which she has won 6 premier titles. 2 premier titles were won in 2012, the other being Indonesian Open Super Series. Both players are on court now and practicing/ warming-up for the title clash. Saina has not lost a game in this tournament so far and would love it to be that way even now. The men's doubles final is over now and Saina Nehwal and Juliane Schenk should be on court anytime now.

The match is just some time away now as the men's doubles final between Korea and Malaysia is on now and they are into the last game of the match. Saina Nehwal may have had a lucky route through to the final after world number 1 Yihan Wang retired during the semi-final but others may argue that she anyway was leading the match comfortably. Anyway, the semis are out of the way and it is time to concentrate on the finals now against German Juliane Schenk, who is number 7 in the Badminton World Federation rankings as against Saina's fourth. The Indian leads in the head-to-head record though with 5-3 advantage over Schenk.
