Raipur: At least 22, including Naxals, have reportedly been killed in an encounter with central security forces in Basuguda in Chhattisgarh. Personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Koya commandos launched a joint operation after receiving a tip-off about an important meeting of the Naxals in the area. Basuguda lies between Bijapur and the Dantewada road, both known Maoist strongholds. A second encounter has also been reported in the Dornapal area in the state. Sources say that at least one Naxal has been killed and two others, who sustained injuries, have been captured by CRPF jawans. Nine CRPF men have also been injured in the firing, sources add.
