New Delhi, India today congratulated the newly-elected President of Egypt Mohamed Morsi, saying it "respects and welcomes" the verdict of the people of that country and was ready to enhance bilateral co–operation. "Egypt has successfully conducted its presidential elections. We respect and welcome the verdict of the people of Egypt and extend our congratulations to them and President–elect Mohamed Morsi," official spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin said.
