New Delhi, Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Nationalist Congress Party leader P A Sangma today said he remained a candidate for the post of the president and was in touch with all political parties to garner support. "I am in the race that is important. Since I am in the race, I do not like to comment on other candidates," he said and added there was nothing wrong in names being suggested for the post of President.
"We all know that my candidature has been sponsored by two most powerful leaders of the country, honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaji and also honourable Naveen Patnaikji who is the Chief minister of Odisha," he told Times Now. Sangma also said he had been given to understand that NDA would discuss his candidature at its meeting tomorrow.
"I have friends everywhere and I do not like to have any enemies.... I have appealed for support to all political parties... I am very much in touch with them," Sangma added.
