12 killed in separate mishaps in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Twelve people were killed and as many injured in two separate accidents in Rajasthan today, police said. Six pilgrims, travelling in a truck, were killed when a goods train hit the vehicle while it was passing an unmanned railway crossing in Bikaner district, police said. 

The incident took place early this morning when the victims were on their way to Ramdevra temple in Bikaner district from SriGanganagar. The victims were rushed to the district hospital where four persons, including a woman were declared dead on arrival and three succumbed to their injuries in the hospital, the police said. In another mishap in Tonk district, five persons were killed and a minor boy was injured when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in the wee hours, police said. 

The victims were on their way to Sanwalia ji temple in Chittorgarh district when the incident took place, they said. The injured boy has been admitted to a nearby hospital, they added.
